Send cyber greetings to the folks back home

Published March 22, 2001

Here's a site to steer this summer's tourists and visiting relatives to: www.LivePostcard.com photographs visitors at various Alaska spots, then posts those shots on the World Wide Web. LivePostcard.com builds a mini-Web page with the personal photo and other Alaska shots so your vacationing guests can show off their trip worldwide.

Visit the Web site to register for the service and provide a list of e-mail addresses for folks you want to see your site. Then, at about 15 vacation spots around the state, participating vendors will take your picture and send it to LivePostcard.com. The Web site should be online and your friends notified by e-mail by the end of the day.

Best of all, the service is free. LivePostcard developer Kevin Roudebush said the company is supported through the participating vacation venues -- places like the Alaska SeaLife Center, the Alaska Railroad and the visitors center downtown. The company also sells photo reprints to vacationers, including reprints on merchandise like computer mouse pads and other items.
